The new Island Tower at Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows has officially opened its doors. Set along the picturesque shores of Seven Seas Lagoon at Walt Disney World Resort, this stunning addition draws inspiration from the vibrant cultures and spirit of the Polynesian Islands. The waterfront haven introduces 268 rooms, providing Disney Vacation Club members and guests with a diverse selection of accommodations.
“Boasting spectacular views of Seven Seas Lagoon and located just a short monorail or boat ride away from Magic Kingdom Park, the Island Tower at Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows is a fantastic addition to this member-favorite resort,” said Bill Diercksen, senior vice president and general manager, Disney Vacation Club. “We look forward to members and guests embracing their inner wayfinder and discovering new ways to make magical vacation memories together.”
Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows has unveiled its stunning new addition: the Island Tower. This 10-story expansion, set along the serene Seven Seas Lagoon at Walt Disney World Resort, offers guests an immersive experience that blends Polynesian heritage with Disney’s signature storytelling. From the tower’s striking exterior to its themed rooms and unique spaces, every detail reflects the natural beauty and rich culture of the Polynesian Islands, all while providing the impeccable service that Disney is known for.
The Island Tower showcases a range of room types designed to meet the needs of various travelers, whether they’re on a romantic getaway or a multi-generational family reunion. Each room is adorned with custom artwork inspired by Moana from Walt Disney Animation Studios, featuring elements like sustainable design touches. For instance, the rugs in the rooms are crafted from recycled plastic bottles, reinforcing the tower’s commitment to sustainability.
Among the exciting additions are the exclusive two-bedroom penthouse villas, which offer stunning views of Magic Kingdom Park or the resort’s Oak Trail and Magnolia Golf Courses. These spacious villas feature a living room, full kitchen, dining area, three bathrooms, and private outdoor patios, providing a luxurious stay for up to eight guests. The penthouses also embrace Moana’s love of nature with design elements reflecting the elements of earth, wind, and water.
The tower also offers one- and two-bedroom villas, which draw inspiration from the beauty of water and Moana’s deep connection to nature. These villas sleep five to nine guests and include a full kitchen, living and dining areas, and two bathrooms. The rooms feature a sofa that converts into a queen-size bed, and a mural illustrating Moana’s adventure as she sails on her canoe to retrieve the heart of Te Fiti.
For smaller groups or couples, the cozy deluxe studios provide an intimate setting with a spa-like bathroom, two queen-sized beds, a kitchenette, and an outdoor patio. These studios are perfect for guests looking for both relaxation and convenience.
The Island Tower expansion introduces a variety of new activities, perfect for families. The Cove Pool area offers a tranquil oasis with a zero-entry swimming pool, ideal for relaxing. For children, Moana’s Voyage splash zone provides hours of fun with its playful water features, including a statue of Moana and her iconic canoe. Guests also have exclusive access to four tropical terrace gardens, each with scenic views of the surrounding areas—offering peaceful retreats and even a prime spot for viewing Magic Kingdom’s nightly fireworks.
Adding to the excitement is the Wailulu Bar & Grill, a casual dining experience that celebrates the connection between the ocean and all life. The menu features island-inspired dishes, including spiced ham musubi and beef short rib loco moco. Guests can enjoy their meals indoors or outdoors, with beautiful views of the Seven Seas Lagoon and Magic Kingdom Park.
The Island Tower was designed with sustainability at its heart. It is projected to use 30% less energy than typical resorts of similar size, thanks to energy-efficient heating and cooling systems, as well as optimized lighting. Much of the tower’s construction utilized pre-fabrication techniques, minimizing construction waste. As with the existing Polynesian Villas & Bungalows, the new tower is part of the Florida Department of Environmental Protection’s Green Lodging Program, a prestigious initiative that recognizes properties committed to conserving and protecting Florida’s natural resources.
Disney Vacation Club members will appreciate the tower’s prime location, offering easy access to the resort’s amenities, including restaurants, lounges, shops, and pools. Plus, a quick monorail ride provides convenient access to Magic Kingdom Park and the rest of Walt Disney World Resort.
The Island Tower’s expansion is part of an ongoing wave of exciting developments at Walt Disney World. From the upcoming Tiana’s Bayou Adventure to thrilling rides like Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure at EPCOT, and immersive lands such as Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, there’s something for everyone. More growth is on the horizon, including the largest expansion in Magic Kingdom’s history, a new Tropical Americas land at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and more.
Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows is one of 17 Disney Vacation Club properties, offering magical experiences for members across four states. With new resorts like The Villas at Disneyland Hotel in Anaheim and The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort, Disney Vacation Club continues to provide a wide variety of vacation options, whether you’re looking for deluxe accommodations or more affordable alternatives.
Whether you’re visiting for the first time or returning for another magical adventure, the new Island Tower at Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows promises an unforgettable stay that celebrates the heart and spirit of the Polynesian Islands.
