Israel saw a new tourist record achieved last weekend.

This new record follows advancement in October that marked a huge growth in the industry. According to the Central Bureau of Statistics, approximately 486,000 tourists visited the country in October, surpassing the number of tourists entering the country in April 2018 by approximately 19 percent.

Since January, tourist arrivals from certain European countries have skyrocketed in Israel compared to the same period last year, including an increase of around 90 percent from Poland, 40 percent from the Czech Republic, Romania and Hungary and 35 percent from Italy. Significant increases were also identified from other countries like the Netherlands, Germany, Spain and the US.

The Ministry of Tourism expects tourism revenues for the current year to exceed another 4 million.

Tourism Minister Yariv Levin praised the statistics and lauded the Ministry of Tourism’s pioneering marketing activities.
