ITDC collaborates with Tourism Ministry for launching tourism responsiveness programme

India Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) joining hands with the Tourism Ministry launched the tourism responsiveness programme for taxi, coach and cab drivers to offer interactive and soft skills training.


The programmewasinitiated under the scheme, ‘Capacity Building for Service Provider’ (CBSP). It was formallyinaugurated by Dr. SambitPatra, the Chairman of ITDC at the grand Ashok Hotel in New Delhi, which witnessed more than 200 participants signifying the transportation segment. During the event, Dr.Patra released the training guidebook too, conjointly with other noted personalities.


Dr. SambitPatrasaid that in the last 2 years, the tourism industry has observed a hugechange in its growth. With the world slowly opening up, there is a need to take important steps towardreinstating tourist services. With the help of this program, ITDC is aiming toimprove the learning of ‘saarthis’ and impart them with the correct skill sets to successfully and professionally present themselves and cater to the tourists who visit to explore Incredible India. Dr.Patracommended the women drivers and highlighted their significance in guaranteeing the well-being of foreign tourists who visitIndia.


Mr. G. Kamala VardhanaRaofrom ITDC said that by reinforcingthe emphasis toward redefining the tourism sector, it is important to identify the hard work and offerings of important subdivisionslike the drivers of tourists’ transport.
With the tourism awareness program, essential steps would be taken for the development and learning of this segment.
