ITM starts in Aizawl

The three-day long International Tourism Mart (ITM) started in Mizoram on the 17th of November. G. Kishan Reddy, the Union Minister for Tourism, Culture and Development of North East Region (DoNER), the Union Minister of State for Tourism Ajay Bhatt, the Chief Minister of Mizoram Zoramthanga were present during the inaugural gathering of the Mart at R. Dengthuama indoor stadium at Mualpui in Aizawl.

On the eve of the event, a mega exhibition and food court pavilion was inaugurated by Dr. R. Lalthangliana, Mizoram Commerce and Industries Minister at Assam Rifles ground in Aizawl. In the exhibition, several stalls on local food processing, food, handloom, handicrafts and tourism have been put up.

Mizoram Tourism Minister Robert Romawia Royte said that it is the 10th edition of the International Tourism Mart, mutually arranged by the Ministry of Tourism and the Mizoram tourism department. Royte said that the event is focused toward highlighting the tourism prospective of the North-Eastern region in the domestic and worldwide markets. Business-to-business sessions and panel deliberations would be there between buyers, sellers, government agencies along with stakeholders.
