Jakarta tourism is planning to boost more public events at tourist sites and museums in order to meet its Rp 26 billion (US$1.9 million) revenue target.
The head of the Jakarta Tourism and Culture Agency, Tinia Budiati, has said that she has suggested to the management unit officials to hold more events for the public, even international [events] if necessary. MICE tourism forms an important part of revenue generation in any country and Jakarta is no different.
According to Tinia, the more the number of travel events would be held and organised, the more will be the number of tourists to the place which will help it grow as a MICE as well as leisure destination.
