Jamaica – a frontrunner in the health and wellness tourism

Edmund Bartlett, Jamaica Minister of Tourism said that Jamaica’s natural assets and geographic location make the island capable to become a frontrunner in the health and wellness tourism industry.

Bartlett asked for bigger investment in Jamaica’s industry for confirming sustainable growth.

He said that Jamaica can make the health and wellness industry bigger and better. People are now traveling to regain their youth. At present, they are more health-conscious than before. COVID-19 has stressed the necessity for health and wellness, said the minister.

Jamaica, due to its physical location and geophysical structures, is in a good position to seize a big share in health and wellness sector that is now globally sought after. As a result, Bartlett said that they require more investment in this burgeoning sector.

The minister said this during the 4thJamaica Health and Wellness Conference held at the Montego Bay Convention Center on the 24th of this month.

As per latest trends, many destinations globally are now concerned about health and healing, particularly after the pandemic. This has initiated the blossoming of health and wellness tourism which encouraged Bartlett to ask bankers and entrepreneurs to fund in this sector.

Bartlett said that Jamaica boasts of two of the best natural spas in the world, which are the bathing fountain and the milk river, and their enterprise team is working meticulously on the same.
