This weekend, the best of the tourism of Jamaica was on display in Kingston as Caribbean Travel Awards was presented by Caribbean Journal to Jamaica’s winning contingent, emphasized by Edmund Bartlett, Jamaica the Tourism Minister, receiving the award for Caribbean Tourism Minister of the Year.
The fourth annual Caribbean Travel Awards 2017 awarded trophies to Round Hill of Jamaica as the Caribbean Hotel of the Year; the Spa at Jewel Grande Montego Bay as Caribbean Spa of the Year and Minister Edmund Bartlett as the Caribbean Tourism Minister of the Year. The Caribbean Journal executive team went to Kingston to formally distribute the awards.
The huge event at the Terra Nova in Kingston has all the famous personalities of Jamaica, along with legends of Jamaican tourism to support Bartlett for his victory.
The awards were presented by the Caribbean Journal Editor and Publisher Alexander Britell and Managing Editor Guy Britton.
The director of sales and marketing at Round Hill, Ms. Linda Lawrence was present at the event to receive the award for the winning hotel; Charmaine Deane and Sienna Creasy received the award on behalf of Jewel Grande.
“Jamaica sent a powerful message in the most recent Caribbean Travel Awards,” Britell said. “These victories are a sign of the strength of the Jamaican tourism industry today.”
However, Bartlett was the biggest star was absolutely, one of the titans of Caribbean tourism and a passionate advocate for Jamaica and its tourism brand.
While accepting the award, Bartlett said that the amazing growth of Jamaican tourism over the decades, pin pointing to the significance and power of tourism to contribute to the economy.
