For high-end tourism, the government of Jamaica will build a new zone. It would be located along the northern coast of the island, extending from Oracabessa to Port Antonio.

The Revere Zone will comprise the coastal towns of Port Maria, Oracabessa, St. Ann’s Bay, Discovery Bay and Runaway Bay and will have only low-density development. This was recently explained by the Jamaica Ministry of Tourism officials in an official statement.

Travelers while coming to Jamaica through the Ian Fleming International Airport will be given a much easier way to enter the new zone. The officials said that once the new highways are constructed, it would be opened. Moreover, in Port Antonio, redevelopment projects are in progress to add to the appeal of the areas for high-end travelers.

Edmund Bartlett, the minister of tourism, Jamaica, said that this new zone will be encouraged by added nonstop air services. It would fly directly into Ocho Rios. This would provide easier and direct entry to this gorgeous region of the island. The establishment of this tourism zone will give confidence to more tourists and help them to explore areas beyond the primary tourist towns like Negril and Montego Bay. It would spread tourism to greater number of people and businesses all through the island.

The post covid outbreak visitor numbers in Jamaica has bounced back strongly, causing main airlines to expand their services to the island.
