All Jammu Hotels and Lodges Association has showed bitterness against the approach of the JKUT Administration and pinpointed that Tourism/Hotel Industry has been suffered in Jammu region in a very bad way.

Today, an emergency meeting of the AJHLA was organized here and was headed by Inderjeet Khajuria, the Chairman, wherein the members showed about their anxiety in terms of the deprived condition of the people of Jammu, mainly those associated with tourism. They asserted that to support this industry, UT administration has done nothing so far.

While talking at the time of the meeting, Khajuria explained that Jammu’s Hotel Industry is passing through the most horrible phase, as an after-effect of COVID-19 pandemic. Tourism has been pushed to countless hardships as an alternative to receive any relief from the Government and the stakeholder’s condition has turned worse due to absence of business activity. The president of the Association, Pawan Gupta, showed about his dissatisfaction on not paying any attention to the Tourism mainly the hotel industry from the scope of any government relief package even after constant requests for the same reason to the government, endless times. The state of smokeless hotel industry, by now on the ventilator because of the extension of train service from Jammu to Katra, has deteriorated due to overwhelming impact of the COVID.

The hotels, lodges, travel agents, tour operators, dhabas, traders doing business related to shawls and handicrafts, dry fruits, autos, taxis, transporters etc. got immensely impacted.
