The Vietnam National Administration of Tourism mentioned that Vietnam received nearly 2.2 million Chinese visitors between January and May and contributed 32.1 percent of the total international arrivals.
The international arrivals in Vietnam was more than 6.7 million which is 27.6 percent year on year. There was a highest growth of 62.1 percent in the number in the number of visitors from South Korea which was followed by Finland which was up by 39.1 percent and China was up by 37 percent.
In the first five months of 2018 5.4 million foreign visitors came to Vietnam by air, this was up by 23.5 percent. About 1.2 million by road which was up by 59.9 percent and157,600 visited by sea which was down by 6.1 percent.
The Asians contributed nearly 5.1 million visitors which was up by 33.3 percent, there were 976,900 Europeans up by 11.8 percent and 421,100 from the Americas, mainly from the United States, up 13.8 percent.
193,200 visited from Oceania which was up 12.1 percent, and 18,000 from Africa, up 20.9 percent.
The administration mentioned that Vietnam plans to receive 16-17 million foreign visitors and 78 million domestic ones. The tourism revenue was 27.5 billion U.S. dollars in 2018.
