On Thursday, Japan stated that travellers from abroad producing Covid-19 vaccination proof with the Johnson & Johnson shot will be allowed in and will be eligible for a quarantine of shorter time when border controls are eased from March 2022.

The J&J shot will join a list of three other shots that have been approved by regulators as the yardstick for non-residents to enter the country, after a nearly two-year ban on foreign travellers.

Yesterday, the names of other approved vaccines on a list that the foreign ministry of Japan has released are the ones developed by Pfizer Inc, Moderna Inc, and Astrazeneca Plc.

However, Chinese and Russian makers of vaccine are not included in the list.

Authorities will increase the number of people allowed in to Japan to 5,000 a day, From March 1st. Fumio Kishida, the Prime Minister, informed reporters last week. The easing procedure includes students, workers, and other visa holders, but not to tourists for the time being.
