Japan has opened borders for foreign travellers who can travel with self-guided tours. The “Self-guided tours” may be the new buzzword when it comes to Japan’s border and travel rules.

On Wednesday, Japan opened borders for foreign travellers on Wednesday. These can be booked with help of a travel agency.

This move might make the tourists come to Japan even more. The nation opened its borders to international tourists in June.

The country also raised the daily arrival capacity, or the number of all arrivals to Japan per day, to 50,000. The capacity dropped a pre-arrival test requirement for those who have been vaccinated with three shots of a coronavirus vaccine.

Despite these moves, Japan’s border measures are still way more conservative compared to most western countries. These include UK and France. These countries are observing restrictions on international travel to be uplifted entirely.

With the relaxation, the tourists who will not be allowed in the country are the foreign tourists staying in accommodation which is not offered by the travel agents.

Thierry Maincent, president of Japan Experience, said that despite the constraints Japan is attracting a lot of people. The clients who were not able to travel since the pandemic are really very much eager to travel back to the country after two years.

However, in unguided tours, the travel agents are required to contact travellers to make sure that they have understood the protocols perfectly. However, All Japan Tours, which is currently based in California based is offering both guided tours and no guided tours.
