Japan opens borders for the first time after 2020 to 100 foreign countries however, tourists need to travel in groups. Prime Minister Fumio Kishida dismissed re-imposing Covid restrictions all over the country. Local governments, however, implement restrictions on people to stop the spread as much as possible.

Japan registered about 7 deaths and 27 cases with serious symptoms. The hospital bed occupancy rose to 50.3% last month. The country added 209600 more cases on Wednesday. Till now the total cases have been pushed to 11.9 million.
The rolling average of confirmed cases rose to 1480 per million on July 27. Japan records the highest number of cases among G-7 nations but the death rates remain to be the lowest.
The country has the highest number of elder citizens. The country is, however, taking a unique method to stabilise the economy. Japan is slowly opening up borders but they require the tourists to visit as chaperoned tour groups. However, domestic residents can travel freely.
The country however practically requires a whole of the population to be vaccinated. The vaccination certificate is also absolutely necessary.
Previously, Japan has closed its borders to all foreign visitors since 2020. This is the first time when the country is opening its borders to nearly 100 countries.
The tour guides are required to frequently attend to the tourists.
Singapore’s Chan Brothers Travel said they received more than 50 tour bookings for groups in Japan, with each group going above 30. This shows the country is severely demanded from international tourists.
