Jet Airways, which recently received the DGCA nod to fly again, has announced the appointment of Mark Turner as Vice President – Inflight Product and Services.

He re-joins the airline after previously leading in-flight services for Jet Airways in 2008-11.

Turners has over 40 years of aviation experience, with key senior management positions at Gulf Air, Emirates, Qatar Airways, and Fiji Airways.

The airline has also appointed Prabh Sharan Singh as Chief Digital Officer, HR Jagannath as Vice President – Engineering and Vishesh Khanna as Vice President – Sales, Distribution, and Customer Engagement.

Jagganath was earlier the Chief Executive Officer of Air India Engineering Services and has over 40 years of aviation experience.

He was instrumental in setting up of Air India’s MRO facilities in India and led the delivery of two specially configured Boeing 777 aircraft to the Indian Air Force for VVIP operations.

Prabh Sharan Singh has been a part of the aviation industry for around 20 years including stints at Etihad Airways, and Kingfisher Airlines.

Vishesh Khanna is the current business head of e-visa. He has thirty years of experience in aviation and travel industries and held senior positions at Vistara and Kingfisher Airlines.

Aviation regulator on Friday granted Jet Airways the Air Operator Certificate (AOC), allowing the airline to resume commercial flight operations.

The Naresh Goyal-founded Jet Airways, which operated its first commercial flight on May 5, 1993 flew commercially for the last time on April 18, 2019 as it collapsed under a pile of debt.

The company then entered bankruptcy proceedings, and was acquired by a consortium of UAE-based businessman Murari Jalan and UK-based Kalrock Capital.

The consortium has committed to a funding of $180 million, of which $60 million will be used to repay the airline’s existing dues.

With DGCA officials onboard, Jet Airways had successfully operated five proving flights on May 15 and 17 and intends to restart its commercial flight operations in the July-September quarter.
