American Airlines and JetBlue are significantly ruling out and ending their alliance, pledging the fact that the partnership undermines competition and has a negative consumer impact in the Northeast region as they limit their flight options.

As the decision comes as a blow to both airlines, they argue that their codeshare agreement would benefit consumers by creating a stronger competitor against Delta Air Lines and United Airlines in the area.

The announcement of the collaboration between American Airlines as well as JetBlue, popularly known as Northeast Alliance was done in 2020.

The Airlines asserted that these Airlines would enhance consumer options by enabling them to begin 58 new routes from New York and Boston airports, increasing the number of flight frequencies on existing routes, and also planning new international destinations.

As the closing verdict goes by the Justice Department lawyer Bill Jones emphasized the importance of the case, related to families that are in need of affordable tickets and quality service.
