J&K Tourism Dept to conduct capacity building exercise at Gulmarg

Post covid-19 pandemic, when the businesses are trying to recuperate from the slump Jammu andKashmirtourism department has embarked on an ambitious programme of capacity building of different tourism players.


It is in the wake of this initiative that a programme was today conducted at the world-famous tourist destination of Gulmarg for the service providers.


The main motive is to sensitise all the service providers like butlers, horsemen, shopkeepers, room service providers, tourist guides and other concerned about the best way of observation of covid protocols and covid appropriate behaviour.


It was further mentioned that this training is expected to increase the awareness among the tourism stakeholders at all the tourist destinations. It would not only help in picking up of the tourism here but would also secure all of them including the guests from this deadly virus.


It was also said that the capacity building programme is an ongoing exercise started from Dal Lake, Srinagar to be replicated at other tourist destinations in the days to come. The said exercise is going to inculcate the necessary encouragement among both the tourists and service providers to start their activities afresh.


Earlier the Tourism department has inoculated more than 95 per cent of registered tourism players including hoteliers, service providers, horsemen, shopkeepers, and others with the covid vaccine.


All these measures are set to infuse new lease of life in the tourism business and help all of the tourism related tradesmen to bring their business back on track in the ensuing tourist season post ebbing of the pandemic.
