Kai Behrens has been appointed cluster general manager of Kempinski Palace Portoroz in Slovenia and Kempinski Hotel Adriatic in Croatia.
He will be responsible for positioning the two properties as the luxury hotels in the region.
He is a German national and studied from the school of management in Dortmund, he holds an executive MBA in hospitality and tourism from NEOMA Business School.
He started of his career by working at the Hyatt Regency in Cologne in the year 2007 and joined the Kempinski as the resident manager at Hotel Baltschug Kempinski Moscow.
Over the past 12 years he acquired extensive experience within the company by managing hotels in Thailand, Bulgaria; Azerbaijan and China.
From his recent position Behrens returns to Europe as General Manager of the Kempinski Hotel Chengdu China.
Behrens commented on his new appointment that he felt extremely honoured for his new appointment in the wonderful destination of Istria. The tow Kempinski hotels are exceptional properties and are the true market leaders.
He will strive towards providing the highest guest satisfactions in Kempinski through remarkable luxury activities and experiences.
Under his leadership Kempinski’s tradition of European Luxury along with the traditional local Istrian flair of hospitality will be maintained.
He made a personal decision to return to native Germany after serving as the general manger of the Kempinski Palace Portorož, Thies Bruhn for more than ten years.
