Kerala tourism suffers loss of up to Rs. 25,000 crore

The tourism sector of Kerala underwent a loss worth Rs. 25,000 crore after it plunged into the crisis brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic. The state’s Tourism department has prepared stimulation packages worth Rs. 455 crore. The Minister for Tourism Kadakampally Surendran said that tourist spots will be reopened for domestic-foreign tourists once the pandemic is restrained.


Kerala finance minister T M Thomas Isaac started his budget speech by praising the Covid-warriors in the state, stressing on the government’s welfare activities during the pandemic.
