The Managing Director of Kerala Tourism Infrastructure Limited (KTIL) K Manoj Kumar said that tourism has gathered momentum; hence, several visitors this year were from Karnataka, including those traveling for leisure and religious purposes.
In 2019, Kerala witnessed more than 1.85 crore domestic visitors and more than 12 lakh international tourists. However, the pandemic situation from February 2020 declined the numbers and the increase in cases in the following months brought a drop in visitorsto the state till the third wave in early 2022.
“We have launched a caravan tour, Keravan Kerala, where families or touring groups can hire a caravan fitted with all amenities, including dining area. Tourists can travel in the caravan and enjoy nature at its best in places like Vagamon in the Idukki region,” said Kumar.
