Kimberly tourism gets million dollar boost up

$1 million program introduced to attract greater number of visitors to come to the Kimberley in the forthcoming tourism season.


Here, visitors can book half-price tours through the Broome and Kununurra Visitor Centres.
Part of the $6 million tourism flood revival package.


Kimberley tourism operators will get $1 million in additional bookings as part of the 50 per cent off tours and experiences program of McGowan Government to help businesses impacted by flooding.


The McGowan Government has given its word to give $500,000 to support a 50 per cent off incentive program booked via the Broome and Kununurra Visitor Centres.


From today, i.e. 15th March, visitors can reserve their half-price tours in advance in Broome, Derby and Kununurra.


The discounted tours will remain valid for travel till 30th September 2023. It will remain on offer until 30th June or until funds are completely used up.


The incentive program is part of $6 million Tourism Flood Recovery Package of the McGowan Government, delivered by Tourism WA to assist Kimberley tourism operators who were impacted by the January flood.


Also, the package has 19,000 discounted airfares from Perth to Kununurra, and Perth to Broome, a national marketing campaign to share the message that the region is now opened for tourism purposes, and help for the affected overland and multi-day tourism operators.
