Kimpton brand in the UK to be launched by IHG

IHG ANA Hotels GroupTo expand the InterContinnetal’s presence , InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) will launch Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants brand in the UK. With Fonciere des Regions IHG has entered into a conditional agreement to rebrand and operate 12 “high quality open hotels” overall apart from one pipeline hotel into its portfolio across the UK. It will enable IHG to launch the luxury boutique brand in the UK .





There will be addition of multiple hotels of the brand in the prime locations in major city centres like London, Manchester and Edinburgh. The move is an important step in IHG’s plan of taking the Kimpton brand on a global level.





The year the first signings for Asia and China took place and this will now act as a catalyst for Kimpton’s growth in Europe. IHG mentioned that the deal would be establishing a presence for an upscale brand which might launch later this year.




In the upscale segment the brand will be focusing on the conversion opportunities and will provide the customers an informal and differentiated experience. Keith Barr, IHG chief executive, mentioned that they are focused to expand their leadership in the luxury and upscale.




These are high value segment and show great growth potential. He further mentioned that bringing Kimpton to an important market like the UK is a major part of their plan. This will provide an exciting and differentiated offering to both the guests and the owners.
