In April 2024, around 6,616 commuters chose this method, but by September, that number had escalated to 59,362—a remarkable 897% increase. Up to late October, approximately 220,201 passengers used mobile QR tickets, showcasing a growth of 3,328% compared to April. This surge reflects commuters’ preference for the efficiency and ease provided by digital tickets, which eliminate the need for paper and reduce the hassle associated with traditional ticketing methods.
With the Mobile QR Code Ticketing System, passengers can now access any metro station on interconnected corridors using a single mobile-generated ticket, making transit more flexible and adaptable. The ability to purchase these tickets from anywhere, be it at home, in the office, or on the move, further enhances convenience.
