The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Tourism Organization (President Young-bae Ahn) introduced a new campaign with the name ‘Come Play with Korea, K-VIBE FESTA’ using the metaverse platform on an extended reality (XR) to offer a novel experience related to traveling to Korea before actually landing here. Since the launch of the “Feel the Rhythm of Korea” series in 2020, Korea has got more attention with songs such as “Tiger is Coming Down”.
Korea Tourism Organization introduces Korea’s diverse attractions with ‘K-Travelog’, the Korean virtual travel experience platform, as part of the campaign, and provides the ‘K-VIBE in ZEPETO’ program. It connects 3D avatars to Korea’s representative tourist destination Gyeongju. Besides, a ‘K-VIBE Concert’ with top K-pop artists will be organized with Korean local attractions (K-Local) implemented on XR in the background, to showcase Korean attraction.
With the new campaign, the Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) makes the use of the metaverse to bring in the exclusive characteristics and charms of every region to the users worldwide.
All the way through K-Travelog, KTO provides an opportunity to witness Korea in an indirect fashion with a personalized itinerary. In cities across the country, different attractions and eateries including Busan, Andong, Gyeongju, Daegu, Yangyang, Seoul and more will be featured on its official website ( www.kvibefesta.com ), opened on November 16, 2021.
