Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre celebrates World Environment Day, ‘Beating Plastic Pollution’

KLCCAbout 60 of the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre’s team member planted trees in and around the venue which was in sync with this year’s theme ‘Beating Plastic Pollution’,the planting materials used were made from recycled plastic.

 

The centre’s safety, health and environment Division will start an initiative to encourage all team members to bring in plastic waste that will be recycled and disposed of in a responsible manner.

 

Centre’s General Manager, Alan Pryor said that it was great to see many team members working together to sustain a better environment within and around the Centre’s grounds.  The centre is commited to being a convention centre that operates its business in a responsible and sustainable manner and the activities were  a cornerstone of their annual CSR programme.

 

World Environment Day 2018 is celebrated to encourage worldwide awareness and action for the protection of our environment.

 

 

After its start in 1974 it has been  a global platform for public outreach widely celebrated across countries.
