Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre is all set to welcome events from July 1

Following the Malaysian Government’s announcement to allow the resumption of domestic business events of up to 250 participants with the necessary precautions in place, the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre(the Centre) is thrilled and excited to recommence operations and is takingbookings with immediate effect for events commencing from 1 July 2020.

In preparation for this much anticipated announcement, the Centre has proactively refined its comprehensive venue Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), in line with Government requirements, to deliver a controlled and regulated environment to protect and provide reassurance to employees, guests and attendees. As part of this, the Centre hasprepared its venue operations team andcreated product offerings to accommodate flexible terms, adaptable spaces, and meeting designplans and capacities, to satisfy allrequired protocols.

Recognising the critical role health, safety and hygiene will play in the ‘new normal’ for business eventsmoving forward, the Centre’s rigorous SOPs include controlled access points for attendeeswith temperature checks, declaration forms and guests asked to use hand sanitiser and encouraged to wear masks; capacity controls and new event set ups and layouts to enable social distancing measures; enhanced plans for the controlling movement around the venue, queue management and F&B provision; increased frequency of cleaning and disinfecting in all spaces; new protocols to reduce touchpoints, including contactless transactions; air quality control measures; and monitoring systems.

The Centre’s General Manager, Alan Pryor, said, “We cannot wait to see our clients, hear about their needs and help them conceptualise what we can deliver as their event partner.We want to really thank all our clients who have demonstrated great understanding and loyalty and stuck with us during this difficult time. Our team have been working hard over the last few months to enable us to safely welcome events back to the Centre.”

He continued, “Business events are our area of expertise, knowledge and experience and we are confident that as a purpose-built venue, we can offer a safe, secure and controlled environmentfor successful events that will provide peace of mind for organisers and attendees.As a venue, we focus on being flexible and adaptable, and have the necessary expertise torun extremely well organised eventstracing every one of our team members, participants, organisers, contractors and suppliers.The health and well-being of everyone in our venue has always been our top priority and this hasn’t changed today.”
