Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre partners with Australia to attract more Australian events

The Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (the Centre) is looking to build on its long-standing connections and relationships with Australia to attract more Australia-based events to Malaysia during 2020. This initiative has been given particular emphasis by the Australian Government’s recent announcement of Malaysia as its ‘Focus Country’ during 2020, which also coincides with the Malaysian Government’s ‘Visit Malaysia Year (VMY) 2020’.

 

 

Elaborating on Malaysia as a ‘Focus Country’, Australian High Commissioner to Malaysia, HE Andrew Goledzinowski, said in his speech during the Australia Day 2020 reception which was hosted at the Centre for the 13th consecutive time, Australia chooses one country on which to focus its diplomatic and public affairs attention, and this year it’s Malaysia.

 

The Australian High Commission Malaysiawill be working with partners and sponsors in coming months to develop some exciting events and activities and connecting withold and new Malaysian friends throughout the year, in areas such as culture and arts,science, technology, engineering, and mathematics(STEM), business and commercial ties, food, media, gender issues, and beyond.

 

 

 

According to the Centre’s General Manager, Alan Pryor, “The Centre has also enjoyed a rich history and strong track record with the Australian market since opening and we look forward to using the Australian focus on Malaysia and VMY 2020 to build on this.”

 

 

 

The venue has hosted over 57 Australia-based events to-date, including numerous high-profile events such as the 5th International Secondary Lead Conference 2017, 17th Asian Battery Conference 2017, Esri Malaysia User Conference 2017, Australian & New Zealand College of Anaesthetists Annual Scientific Meeting 2019, and many more.
