Kurdistan winter tourism booms with influx of tourists

The Kurdistan region in northern Iraq is throbbing with tourists and its tourism sector is shining as Iraqi tourists are increasingly visiting mountain resorts in the region with the beginning of the snow season. It has been reported that more than 200,000 tourists from different Iraqi governorates visited the region’s tourist sites during the first week of the new year.


With the onset of the snow season, the winter tourism in the Kurdistan region is booming and blooming with tourists. Resorts and tourist sites became a destination for thousands of Iraqi tourists coming from all the country’s governorates, to enjoy the uncommon snow scene in their governorates, Iraqi News reported.


Offers and facilities provided by the Directorate of Tourism in Kurdistan attract more tourists, especially during the weekends.


While the temperature drops below zero degrees Celsius, tourists enjoy snowballing and what the nature offers at this time of the year.


Iraqi tourists unanimously agree that the atmosphere in one of the resorts of Erbil is ideal, especially in the snow season, Iraqi News noted.
