Ladakh Scouts team bags 1st LG Horse Polo Cup

Ladakh Scouts team bagged the 1st LG Horse Polo Cup by defeating Himalayan B in the finals at Polo Ground Goshan.

14 teams from across Ladakhtook part in the Tournament, which was organized by the UT Administration Ladakh, under AzadiKaAmritMahotsav.

Lieutenant Governor LadakhRadha Krishna Mathur was the chief guest on this occasion.

The event going on for 7 days kick started on 29th Septemberthis year, where teams from different parts of Ladakh including Drass, Chuchot and Mundikalong with teams of Ladakh Scouts and Animal Husbandry Department Lehtook part.

Appreciating the efforts of Amin Polo for promotion of Traditional Horse Polo in Ladakh, LG Ladakh said that the tournament is an initiative for supporting recovery of Horse Polo in Ladakh which will help in turning Drass into a center of sporting activities.

Steps are also being taken to connect sports with tourism, and infrastructure improvement pertaining to Horse Polo Ground GoshanDrass is also being done.

CEC LAHDC KargilFeroz Ahmad Khan, Administrative Secretary Sports UT LadakhRavindra Kumar Dangi, SDM Drass Anwar Ali and other officers and Sports Lover were also present on the occasion.
