To arrange things for the reopening of tourism from Jan 1st, 2022, Laos is handling a health and hygiene programme. It’s called LaoSafe. This program is conducted in Vientiane capital, reported Vietnam News Agency (VNA).

This project is carried out by the Ministry of Information, Culture, and Tourism of the country with support from the Luxembourg and Swiss governments.

LaoSafe program features health and hygiene standards for different subsectors of tourism and hospitality, including food and beverage outlets, accommodation providers, airlines, tourist attractions, tour guides, and drivers.
After Vientiane businesses receive training and get qualified, those in Luang Prabang province will be the next to take the advantage from the said programme.

In Jan, assessment and certification will start with prime aim on “green” tourism zones, including Vientiane capital, Luang Prabang, and Vang Vieng town.

On Saturday, the Lao Ministry of Health reported that the country witnessed 1,007 new infection cases and 12 related deaths in 24 hours. Vientiane capital recorded the most, with 500 cases. Now, the total number of Covid-19 infections in the country stands at 105,380, including 317 deaths.
