Las Vegas McCarran International Airport managed 25.3 million passengers in the first half of 2019. It marked an increase of 3.1 per cent in the number of passengers for the same period. They have witnessed year over year growth for the past six to eight years. If the trend continues they expect to serve 50 million passengers by 2019 end. Nearly 4.5 million people travelled through McCarran in the month of June. That’s a new record for this month.

McCarran’s steady growth is attributed to the success the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority in attracting more tourists and conventions. As per LVCVA’s new June numbers, 3.6 million people visited Las Vegas, including more than a half-million in town for conventions.

Hotel room occupancy rose by 92 per cent in June. RevPAR or revenue per available room rose by 5 per cent to more than U.S. dollars 110. The airport handled a record high 49.7 million passengers in 2018. Southwest Airlines is the busiest carrier at the airport, followed by Delta, Spirit, American and United.

The growth in tourism, conventions and passenger volume are interlinked. McCarran International Airport partners with the LVCVA in attracting airlines. Depending on various factors they can serve 60 million passengers as well.
