Las Vegas shooting will leave IMEX America undeterred

Imex America 2016Ray Bloom who is the chairman of IMEX and Carina Bauer, CEO, IMEX have confirmed that IMEX America would proceed as planned after the overnight mass shooting incident on the strip of Las Vegas.


From the Mandalay Bay Hotel, a 64-year-old man had unleashed a barrage of gunfire that terrorized several people at an outdoor music festival in Las Vegas.


The incident killed at least 59 people and injured over 500. This made the event the most fatal mass shooting in modern US history. The organizers have confirmed that IMEX America would be proceeding as it had been previously planned next week that is from 10th to 12th October at Sands Expo Las Vegas.


It would be well-equipped with reinforced security and safety measures.


In an official statement the organizers of IMEX stated that they were shocked at the events that had taken place in Las Vegas over the last 24 hours.


This statement also read that in the following few days they would be coordinating closely with the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority and Sands with an aim to assess any additional security measures that might be required at this point of time.


Paul Van Deventer who is the CEO of Meeting Professionals International (MPI) has also issued a statement after the incident that emphasized the significance of risk management for various events.
