Prayagraj would soon convert Lawayankala as a new river tourism spot. Located around 21 kms from Sangam in Prayagraj, Lawayankala is an ideal destination to understand life on the banks of the River Ganges.

The waters of Lawayankala are home to Gangetic dolphins and they are going to be displayed as one of the major allures. In order to see this spectacle, Lawayankala will have a Vedic tent city, floating jetties, boats and houseboats along with catamarans.

The houseboats will have amenities for overnight stays and Lawayankala will be developed in line with Kashmir’s Dal Lake.

The Layawankala area boasts of several river islands. The islands of Gangapur and DhuipurKachhar will be a part of the river tourism development known as Ganga Dweep.

This venture will also emphasize existence on the banks of the Ganges. Hence, spirituality, meditation, yoga and Ayurvedic practices will be in focus. Conveniences like yoga, meditation and an Ayurveda cure center will be coming up soon.

Right now, India has a wonderful river tourism prospect. From sailing down the Ganga ghats to confronting the torrents in Siang or bird watching and exploring mangrove in Goa’s Mandovi River, there are a lot of experiences for travelers when it comes to river tourism in India.

In addition to adventure undertakings, luxury river voyages on the Brahmaputra, Ganges and Mandovi are preferred as well. Places like Guwahati, Dibrugarh, Varanasi, the Sundarbans, Goa, Kolkata, Chilika Lake along with the backwaters of South India are much sought after with regard to river tourism.
