Legoland to open new theme park based on ‘Lego Movie World’

Legoland-FloridaOn Thursday Legoland Florida announced that next spring it is ready to open a new area based on ‘The Lego Movie’.

 

Labeled as the largest investment of the park, the section would feature two new rides, character meet and greets as well as a ‘giant themed landscape’ based on the city Bricksburg from the 2014 film.

 

Rex Jackson, the general manager of Legoland Florida mentioned that the sights and sounds of the park would be completely immersive, bringing the Lego movie franchise to life in a way that only a Legoland park could.

 

A spokesperson of Legoland also said that the new area would take over all the land presently occupied by The World of Chima that itself had opened in 2013.

 

The area’s one existing attractions, The Quest for Chi boat ride would be closing on 29th May and be rethemed for Lego Movie World. The Lego Movie’s presence in Legoland Florida with character meet and greets when the movie premiered in theaters, a 12-minute, 4-D film later debuted at the park in January 2016.

 

And, with ‘The Lego Movie Sequel’ entering theaters on 8th February, 2019, Legoland is positioned to capitalize of the second movie is as popular as the first.

 

Since its opening in 2011, the park has constantly expanded and has added new attractions every year since along with opening a water park and hotel to make the Winter Haven resort a multiday experience.
