Liz Emmott has been promoted to the role of new general manager for the Amadeus, UK.
Her appointment will be effective from April 1 2018, and she will be based at Amadeus’s Gatwick office.
She will be replacing Champa Magesh, who has recently relocated to Singapore to take up the role of Vice-president, Retail Travel Channels and Amadeus Asia Pacific.
Liz will be responsible for overseeing business strategies, championing the needs of the market and continuing the company’s initiatives to drive growth for its customers.
Magesh stated that as she will be embarking on her new role based in Singapore she was delighted to be entrusting the UK business into the capable hands of Liz Emmott. Saying goodbye is tough in a dynamic market but she was confident that Liz’s appointment will ensure the company gears up for even greater success in 2018.
She had worked alongside Liz for more than two years. Liz demonstrates tireless enthusiasm, commitment to meeting the needs of the market and the ability to understand the challenges and opportunities facing travel sellers.
Magesh further added that Liz has a depth of business experience gained from working across travel and the payments industry, which will be a huge asset as she takes the helm at Amadeus UK.
She was confident that Liz and the rest of the UK team will continue to build on the success of local partnerships and shape the future of travel in new and exciting ways.
