The chiefs of tourism bureau of different provinces in China have been going all out. They are engaging in cosplay to draw the eyeballs of everyone and enhance the domestic tourism. However, their eagerness has got decreased after Chinese state media discouraged on the same.

On 19 th May, in an article published by Xinhua News Agency showed a remark with the title – Please Stop Turning Tourism Bureau Chiefs Into Internet Celebrities! It disapproved the regions that are following the trend in a blind way, explaining that they have attained small through such gimicks.

The explanation also stated that several chiefs of tourism bureau stopped attracting traffic or dividends soon after they got online popularity, as it’s hard to maintain the interest level of the netizens with just a title -tourism chief.
