Luxor received the first charter flight on this Saturday evening. It would fly from Spain after experiencing suspension of 17 months.
On 19 March 2020, all international flights at various airports in Egypt countrywide were called off as part of government efforts to stop virus spread.
On 1st July 2020, as part of a first stage, inbound flights resumed their services to three governorates, namely the Red Sea, South Sinai, and Matrouh governorates. Last year, in early September, tourism activities were resumed to Luxor and Aswan with floating hotels permitted to restart their work from 1st October.
In Luxor with flowers, the Egyptian Tourism Promotion Board office received the tourists of the first charter flights from Spain.
Eman Mahmoud, head of the Central Department of Internal Tourism at the authority, had given signs that the plane coming from Madrid was carrying 114 tourists. She had also mentioned that every week, it’s scheduled to operate two chartered flights from Spain to Luxor, starting next week until October of 2021.
In the meantime, Luxor received the first charter flights from France to Luxor as well after the recommencement of the incoming tourist movement to Egypt since the beginning of July 2020 on today’s fagr?
