Madrid will host the second edition of Forward_MAD from October 5 to 7. The event is to recommenceits pledgetoward developing a sustainable model of high-impact tourism, where historical and cultural heritage occupies the central position.
Professionals from the tourism industry like travel agencies, investment funds, hoteliers, transport companies, tours and activities providers, along with the media, will assemble in Madrid during this timeandtalk over trends and strategies to turn Madrid into a high-impact tourist city.
At the event, new products and services will be announced to accompany the offer available for tourists spending more and bookingstays for longer duration.
The concepts of reformative tourism and sustainability ways will be integrated as foundations of this tourism segment in addition to discussing new trends, challenges faced and the opportunities to be made use of.
The luxury tourism sectorwent through major growth in the recent times. In the city of Madrid, the number of tourists putting up in four- and five-star hotels went up to 2.53 million in 2021, which is more than double the figures from 2019, as per data obtained from the Spanish Statistics Institute.
The number of accommodations in these two categories has increased as well, with 64 percent of the hotels unveiled from 2019 to 2021 in Madrid being four to five stars.
Last year, from October 13 to 15, Forward_MAD held its first edition in Madrid, witnessing presenceof more than 200 global travel industry professionals from 150 companies in the luxury tourism section from 30 countries.
