Maharashtra government to organize 16 fests in 1 year

In an attempt to perk up the footfall of tourists and unravel tourism potential in various corners of Maharashtra, the government of Maharashtra is all prepared to organize 16 festivals in a one year. On
Tuesday, a senior official said the same.

These festivals will be arranged in different historical sites, religious places and places that are famous for their natural beauty, he said.


While speaking to PTI, Shraddha Joshi, the managing director, Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation, said that they have already finalized a year-long calendar of festivals.


These will take place in varioust parts of the state. This move was adopted so that stakeholders, visitors and people of these places get conscious about it much before.


The idea of each of these festivals is yet to be finalized and work on it is in rogress, she stated clearly.


On the MTDC’s calendar, some of the festivals are: Fireflies festival in Bhandardara, Mahabaleshwar festival, monsoon festival at Amboli, tribal tourism festival in Javhar, Sindhudurg and Bhandardara, tribal tourism festival in Dhule, Ganesh festival and Kas Pathar festival.
