Maharashtra travel firms need to share details with tourism department

Travel companies embarking on tours within the state of Maharashtra and elsewhere will need to upload the details of their trips along with travelers on the website of the tourism department.

These details would be shared with district disaster management teams. This was stated by the officials of the state tourism department.

The administration is having a hard time to trace Amarnath tour operators and tourists, along with various other monsoon tours planned by tour operators. The disaster management officials said that it is important for the details to be shared with them along with the tourism department.

The deputy director of the state tourism department Supriya Karmakar, said that soon it would be compulsory for all tour operators to share particulars of their excursions with the tourism department.

Karmakar said that they are of late following the process of registering all tour operators online on www.maharashtratourism.gov.in, where they can upload information regarding their trips and travelers. The Maharashtra tourism department has also begun registering operators of adventure tourism as per the Adventure Tourism Policy declared in August 2021. Other online platforms that assist in aiding trips will also need to register with the fine points, said Karmakar.
