Malaysia Aviation Group has recruited two new members in the Board

Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG) has announced the appointment of two new members to the board of directors team. The members are Tan Sri Dr. Zulhasnan Rafique and Faridah Bakar Ali.

They have been added to the MAG and Malaysia Airlines Berhad’s (MAB) Board of Directors (the “Board”). They will start their service from 14 July 2022.

Tan Sri Wan Zulkiflee Wan Ariffin, Group Chairman of MAG have stated that they are delighted to welcome tan Sri Dr. Zulhasnan and Faridah as members of the board. He said that the robust career opportunity will help the company to achieve new directions. The robust experience will help the company to achieve new directions. The diverse experience in domestic and international markets will add value to the decision-making of the business. He also said that with members like them he wishes MAG to become Asia’s leading Travel and Aviation Service.

Tan Sri Dr. Zulhasnan has experience as an entrepreneur, diplomat and businessman. He began his career as Commissioned Officer and Fighter Pilot at the Royal Malaysian Air Force. He retired from the rank of major in the year 1985. Tan Sri Dr. Zulhasnan has served in the Malaysian Cabinet for five years as the Federal Territories Minister. He also served as Deputy Federal Territories Minister from 2004 to 2009.

On the other hand, Faridah is currently recruited as the Chief Financial Officer of Khazanah Nasional Berhad. She joined the organisation in 2006 after she has built a career in accountancy and finance with PricewaterhouseCoopers Malaysia and BP Malaysia. In BP Malaysia, she has worked on a Japanese entity. Her job there was to restructure the reporting process and as well as take part in a major segment sellout of BP to a Shanghai entity.

Faridah has experience delivering several notable Islamic Finance transactions. These include the world’s first Exchangeable Sukuk that priced USD750 million into Telekom Malaysia Berhad shares in 2006.

Other board members have welcomed the new board members to the team. The management team might restructure for making the future clearer and fairer.
