This campaign would highlight the progress of the destination in inoculating tourism workers against the pandemic along with the goal to attain the same for the rest of the local population in the coming months.

The campaign will feature social media activities and a supporting microsite that would provide information of the number of tourism staff members who have been vaccinated and information regarding registration for vaccination of employees and the up-to-date safety protocols related to health and safety.

During the campaign launched on April 28, Shah Abdulla Mahir, the minister of state of the Ministry of Health, mentioned that more than 65 per cent of the eligible population in Maldives has received the vaccine and over 90 per cent of the eligible tourism industry is vaccinated.

He also mentioned that the significance of practicing health and safety guidelines regardless of the vaccination progress, and highlighted the significance of achieving herd immunity.
