At Maibam Lotpa Ching, Imphal Peace Museum is a holy place of Manipur and is well-known for 2nd World War. This is the place where Japanese Army till their last breath had fought against the Allied Forces, explained La Ganesan, the Governor.
As a result, in Manipur, this place is known as Peace Museum and stands tall. It’s also a place to pay tribute for an eternal peace and understanding.
Ganesan while delivering speech on Wednesday at the 3rd Anniversary celebration of Imphal Peace Museum at Maibam Lotpa Ching, the governor re-counted that Maibam Lotpa Ching is a war memorial site of historic importance and an important phase of the WW-II that occurred in Nambol.
He explained that in Manipur, this is one of the significant places.
While applauding the initiations made by Manipur Tourism Forum in setting up of the Peace Museum, the governor explained that the museum shows and describes adversities that the people of Manipur went through at the time of the war and the way people of Manipur had to run away from the devastation of war. In Manipur, it has been one of the most explored tourist sites.
The Imphal Peace Museum has become the brand and proof of the powerful historical links which Manipur people have with Japan, he mentioned.
While highlighting the significance to carry out more researches on battle sites, the Governor clearly stated that these historical sites needs preservation.
