Currently, the Manx public is frequently being urged for feedback on plans to upgrade the tourism legislation of the Island. The Department for Enterprise is keen to make sure that laws are modern in order to encourage and get the support of the tourism industry.
The consultation is looking for views on the statutory registration of visitor accommodation, ways those accommodations is graded and the Department’s data collection powers.
At present, the Tourist Act of 1975 forms the basis for most of the Department’s powers and functions in terms of tourism.
Those who wish to respond to the consultation have until January 26th to submit their views.
