Marriott International Inc. signs MoU in Indonesia

On Wednesday, Marriott International Inc., the Bethesda-based hospitality giant signed a MoU with The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy of The Republic of Indonesia. The MoU was signed with the aim to develop Indonesian tourism and the creative economy.


The agreement comprises joint partnership around tourism destination and marketing. These institutional fields include growth and expansion of competencies related to talent and human resource in tourism, creative economic development along with other forms of cooperation helpful for the hospitality and tourism within a period of three years from the date of signing.


Ramesh Jackson, the vice president for Marriot International, Indonesia, said Marriott International is devoted to help Indonesia tourism.


The Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy of the Republic of Indonesia, Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno, in his statement expressed that this MoU agreement is a concrete step toward a pledge between the private and public sector, in accordance with the instructions of President Joko Widodo to develop a more inclusive tourism.


This appropriate partnership helps the efforts of Marriott International to give more power to and equip regional talents, giving more opportunities for students or graduates of six Tourism Polytechnics, and training within the portfolio of hotels and resorts of the company.


Marriott International includes a portfolio of over 8,000 properties under 30 important brands across 139 countries and territories. Marriott functions and franchises hotels and licenses vacation ownership resorts globally.
