Maryland has several attractive places to explore. Some are famous as others are some of the most hidden treasures of the state.

To help have fun on this National Travel and Tourism Week and all that the state in the Mid-Atlantic region of the United States has to provide, the Maryland Tourism Coalition on Tuesday will stop for several times in various corners for Maryland in a Day event.

The Maryland Tourism Coalition had set up this event. The group will kick-start the “Great Chesapeake Bay Loop” starting in Havre de Grace, a city in Harford County and concluding in Crisfield on Tuesday.

On the Tuesday morning tour, the first stop was the famous Concord Point Lighthouse.

This famous Lighthouse is almost 200 years old. In Maryland, it is the second oldest lighthouse that can be found. Also, the lighthouse is the sign of Havre de Grace. Constructed in 1827, for sailors, this lighthouse served as a beacon in the Upper Chesapeake Bay until it was decommissioned in 1975.

The meeting point or the confluence of Susquehanna River and the Chesapeake Bay is the place where the Concord Point Lighthouse is located.

The light from the Concord Point Lighthouse acted as a help to find direction for 148 years. The Lighthouse and Keeper’s House have been completely revamped. Now both of them have been opened for public on weekends starting from April to October.
