For honeymooners, Mauritius is one of the most sought-after destinations in the world, has ultimately raised many restrictions related to COVID-19 to improve its tourism. Due to the pandemic, this South African country had placed a temporary ban on public gatherings. However at present, Mauritius has scrapped these limitations along with eliminating the mandate of public mask as well.

Mauritius is called a heaven in the Indian Ocean. It’s known for its immaculate beaches, remote islands and luxury accommodations. Pravind Jugnauth, the Prime Minister, recently said that tough decisions had to be adopted, like total control which has its own consequences on the island’s economy. He has also said they have not been in any kind of rush to reopen their international borders. The entire process has been done in stages. He has also added that this formula has finally worked. With confidence now the island can enter a new phase.

Mandates on wearing masks will be there for hospitals as well as trains. With full capacity, all bars and nightclubs have reopened and public gathering restrictions have also been lifted.

Also, the Mauritius government has recently permitted beach picnics which were restricted so far. Also, the PM requested the locals to take safety measures when it comes to mask wearing which would help in containing the virus spread.

It seems that, Mauritius started greeting the travellers from abroad from the start of October 2021 only to improve its tourism industry.
