Mayvin Global, a consultancy specialising in the delivery of commercial and revenue generation solutions across tourism, business events, associations and the arts, has opened its third office, despite the impact of COVID-19, in Darwin with a team of two local staff, a sign of the company’s whole-hearted commitment to the Northern Territory.

With offices already in Sydney and the Gold Coast, Mayvin Global recognised the opportunity to support Northern Territory’s business events and tourism sectors at a time when most companies around Australia are reducing their growth investments.

Mayvin Global recently completed Industry Enhancement Workshops in Darwin, Alice Springs and Uluru for Northern Territory Business Events, and an International Conference Bidding Process for the Darwin Convention Centre.

Deanna Varga, Managing Director and Founder, Mayvin Global has been a regular visitor to the Northern Territory for over 20 years and has led the Mayvin Global Northern Territory projects to date. However, in a bold move Deanna decided to act upon the opportunity to open a Darwin office, engage local employees and give back into the sectors they support.

“Opening an office during COVID-19 might seem like going against the grain, however, after the experience of our recent projects, undertaking multiple visits to Uluru, Darwin and Alice Springs and having had several meetings with NT representatives, I knew this was a risk worth taking.

“The opening of the Darwin office, is a great chance for us to show real commitment to the region, one I’m passionate about, by providing ‘boots on the ground’ to work across tourism, business events, associations and the arts,” said Ms Varga.

The Mayvin Global Darwin team has significant experience living and working in the Northern Territory. The team is headed up by Kathryn Duell, Northern Territory Manager who will lead Tamara Williams, Northern Territory Coordinator and Sydney-based Tania Sissaguian.

Peter Savoff, General Manager, Darwin Convention Centre, welcomed the opening of the Mayvin Global Darwin office and sees great opportunities to raise the profile of Darwin as a destination of choice for event planners.

“This is great news for our region, and I applaud Mayvin Global for taking this risk during a time when so many businesses are holding tight or retracting.

“Even as we battle through the realities of living with COVID-19, we have work to do. Combining our record for hosting successful conventions and conferences with the unique qualities of the NT as a tourist destination, I look forward to what will be possible when we collaborate with businesses like this,” said Mr Savoff.

The Mayvin Global Darwin team look forward to working with local organisations to make an impact both socially and financially for the region.
