Medical emergency terminates United Airlines flight in London

United AirlinesA medical emergency was declared on board a flight of United Airlines that was carrying 266 passengers and 15 crew members.

 

The flight was travelling from New York to New Delhi. It was compelled to make a landing at Heathrow airport of London today and terminate its journey there. United Airlines is making arrangements to fly the stranded passengers to their destination as per the airline spokesperson mentioned in a statement this evening.

 

The Boeing B 777-200 ER was able to land around 12.06 local time at the Heathrow airport after it was diverted to London on account of a medical emergency on board, as per United Airlines.

 

This flight had departed New York at 9 p.m. local time yesterday and was scheduled to arrive at Indira Gandhi International airport of New Delhi at 9.30 p.m. (local time) today.

 

The airline added that their team in Heathrow is offering assistance to customers of United flights 82 (New York/ New2ark to New Delhi) that had to be diverted to Heathrow owing to a medical issue on-board.

 

The flight had 266 passengers and 15 crew members on board as per the statement.

 

This flight was finally cancelled since the crew had reached their maximum duty time. The flight authorities added that they are offer4ing hotel accommodation for their customers and also making arrangements for them to complete their journey tomorrow.
