Medical tourism to get a boost in Jordan

 Medical tourism sector contributes more than 1 billion U.S. dollars to the economy in Jordan and in the wake of this the country will be hosting a forum.

 

 

Under the patronage of King Abdullah II of Jordan the Global Healthcare Travel Forum (GHTF) 2019 is scheduled from Healthcare Travel Forum (GHTF) 2019.

 

 

Private Hospitals Association (PHA) along with the Global Healthcare Travel Council and the Arab Hospitals Federation has organised the forum which is aimed at providing medical tourism stakeholders around the world the opportunity to meet, integrate and strengthen cooperation in the field.

 

It is expected that  more than 700 participants representing commissions specialized in healthcare travel and insurance, along with pharmaceutical manufacturers, will take part in the forum according to President of the PHA Fawzi Hammouri.

 

 

 

He went on saying that the forum will provide an opportunity to further develop the outcomes of GHTF 2017 aimed at expanding the scope of the medical tourism sector in Jordan to eight internationally recognized segments.

 

 

Also known as the Health Travel 8, the segments include traditional medical tourism, dental tourism, wellness tourism, spa tourism, culinary tourism, sports tourism, retirement tourism and accessible tourism.
