The Mekong Tourism Coordinating Office has revealed Mekong Voices and the hidden Gems of Mekong, fascinating interviews with the regional tourism innovators, and deep ideas into remote destinations. Both efforts are organized on the new MekongTourism.org website. The Greater Mekong Subregion including Yunnan, Cambodia, and Guangxi provinces in China, Thailand, Lao PDR, Myanmar, and Viet Nam, is one of the most energetic tourist destinations of the world. The government established the Mekong Tourism Coordinating Office in 2006, as a background for tourism collaboration with its main purpose to grow and encourage the Mekong Region as a single destination for tourism.

Mekong Voices is a sequence of Q&A interviews with fearless pioneers, travelers, and trendsetters who are leading by instances in travel industry in the Greater Mekong Subregion. The dialogues probes deep into resilience, sustainability, and invention within travel sector. They provide hands-on insights and act as catalysts for transformative change.

For instance, there are interviews with community-based tourism operators, leaders of charitable travel foundations, tribal women of the hilly regions, academics, executives of destination marketing organization and CEOs.

Mekong’s Hidden Gems throws spotlight on the lesser-known destinations that are located within the Greater Mekong Subregion. These are frequently outshined by their famous counterparts.
